5th Annual Marlborough Earth Day Fair - May 5, 2012

Ghiloni Park, Marlborough, MA

We got lucky! The weather was good! Singer P.E.James returned for our 5th Fair! Next Step Living signed up people for home energy efficiency and solar assessments.
Paul, Amy, Andy and Frank have a chat and people pass by to learn about solar. Two solar professionals meet in front of the AMSA booth.
Exhibitors from D.R.E.A.M. and Hannafords and Second Generation Energy educated folks and 3 local high school seniors were terrific!
People had a chance to see solar products. Children enjoyed Mary's face painting. Singer/Engineer P.E. and Jen enjoy a chat.
Stevie's Eatery came to the fair and the the burgers (especially veggie burgers) were delicious!
An architect shows green community work and a garden display was very creative. It was a good day to be outdoors and visit.
Energy experts from Next Step Living and local food experts from Hanson's Farm and a solar expert from Hudson helped educate and inspire folks at the 5th annual Earth Day Fair!

Thanks to many for 5th annual Marlborough Earth Day Fair

We had good weather for the 5th annual Marlborough Earth Day Fair on May 5th at Ghiloni Park.  People enjoyed exhibits, live music, food, energy experts, and some family fun.

The fair connects people to local resources and celebrates local sustainability efforts.

There are many people to thank and at the top of the list are Green Marlborough members and several exhibitors who spend many hours making it happen.  A special thank you to Martin Levins and his electronics recycling team and Mike Manning for his day-long help at the fair.

We had a good mix of local exhibitors:  The Alternative Energy Store, Advanced Math & Science Academy (AMSA),

D.R.E.A.M. (Development, Revitalization, Energy, Architecture, Management) Collaborative, EL Harvey waste and recycling company, Face Painting by Mary, Gardening by Emily, Green Marlborough, Green Workforce Training, Hanson's Farm, Hannafords, Immaculate Conception School, New England Breeze & Solar, Next Step Living Inc., Second Generation Energy, Stevie's Eatery, and Wendy's Crafts.

Food was provided by Stevie's Eatery, Hanson's Farm, Hannaford's, and The IC School.

A big thank you to EL Harvey, a local waste and recycling company from Westborough, for the electronics recycling truck at the Fair.  EL Harvey was founded in 1911 and is a local, fourth generation business.

Thank you to Marlborough Parks and Recreation Director and Mayor's Office for the City of Marlborough permit to have the fair at the basketball court at Ghiloni Park, Paul Davis for the music, Bob and the Elks for the tables, Pat for shooting footage for the Green Marlborough TV show, and many others.

Thank you Mary Mattock and Second Generation Energy for donations to Green Marlborough.

Thank you to Singer P.E.James for the excellent acoustic guitar playing and singing, the Marlborough High School seniors trio, and the Marlborough high school juniors band.  They are all very talented and we loved having them at the Earth Day Fair.

Many thanks to the residents who attended. This community event is a 100% grassroots effort by and for the residents of Marlborough and could not happen without you.

We can be proud Marlborough has so many people interested in local environmental efforts.
