3rd Annual Marlborough Earth Day Fair - May 1, 2010

Ghiloni Park, Marlborough, MA

We had really good weather for the fair  so lots of people came to learn & have fun. Mike and Andrea answered lots of questions
while Kevin spoke about solar installation and Amy talked about solar hot water. FreeWatt had a mobile display with a demo.
Charlie answered questions about renewable energy when people stopped by  and New England Energy explained how to reduce electricity use in the home and $ave. Sustainable Life Solutions and products were presented by Kim.
Andrea, a green purchasing pro, spoke about green products. Green Irene shared green homes ideas and the Community Swap Shop was explained by Jodi.
Tom and his son gave away lots of recycling bins while Martin and his team recycled electronics and lots of people brought electronics to recycle!
Refoam It provided styrofoam recycling info.  Art from found objects by Ozo was ingenious. Jen and Mike spoke with fair visitors.  .
Assabet Valley Voc. displays on hybrid cars, eco designs and solar were great. The principal & students were on hand to speak! Advanced Math and Science Academy parents and students had a good display and students were up to the task of providing information about their projects, too.
Immaculate Conception generously gave fruits and reusable bags to visitors all day long. Mary and lots of kids enjoyed face painting.     YMCA's Camp Kane enrolled students for local summer time activities.
Marlborough350.org was well represented  and the MLS soccer store on Main Street had a good display. The Lions Club pitched in with recycling, face painting and general fun.
Marlborough Nissan brought 2 hybrids and info on the Leaf, a plug-in car. Mike brought his Honda CNG (Compressed natural gas) car. People enjoyed learning from all the exhibits and spending time outdoors together
Singer P.E. James was a real crowd pleaser and tuned into the spirit of the day. Top of the Slide, a group of Marlborough 9th grade students, were wonderful.  Several students came to enjoy the music and spend time at the fair.
Pat baked S'Mores in a solar oven so her table was a popular stop at the fair. Young soccer players like this one enjoyed freshly solar-baked S'Mores. Rick, the photographer, shows his flair for artistic photos.
