Collaboration and Results

We work with diverse stakeholders to achieve results. Here are examples:

STATE GOVERNMENT

  • Jen Boudrie wrote the 2006 Marlborough Energy and Environmental Inventory and 2008 Marlborough Sustainability Action Plan.  They were foundation documents that led to the Green Community designation and $217K grant award to the city of Marlborough in 2010.
  • In 2009 Jen Boudrie spoke with MA DEP officials and Senator Pam Resor about funding a grant to support local climate change initiatives.  With their support, DEP grants were awarded to 10 communities including Marlborough.
  • In 2011 Jen Boudrie spoke with two community organizers and met with Senator Jamie Eldridge to promote funding for community sustainability and energy positions.  Senator Eldridge pursued this initiative with MA DOER and in 2013 MA DOER made $1.7 million available to fund municipal energy managers positions. Press Release.

BUSINESS

  • In 2012 Green Marlborough collaborated with Next Step Living to provide Mass Save information to hundreds of residents.  Based on the number of referrals provided $150 was donated to Green Marlborough.
  • In 2013 Jen Boudrie met with Mark Durrenberger and came up with a Marlborough Solar Discount initiative.  The program saved four home owners $400 each on their solar installations and donated $1000 to Green Marlborough.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT
